A short / web series pilot shot completely via Urban Exploring in the Bay Area

Hi all!

I am a relative newcomer to the website, well at least, I haven't posted too much, so I hope this isn't against the rules. (If so, feel free to delete the thread).

I've been Urban Exploring since I was a teenager growing up in the suburbs with nothing to do. For years I explored old buildings in the bay area and always thought it was like being in an apocalyptic movie set. I'm also a film maker in training trying to hone my craft. So I decided to shoot a pilot for a web show based on this concept and I would love if any of you wanted to check it out!

I worked about a year on it and it's something I'm really proud of pulling off. A few of the locations featured have actually been demolished since we shot so I feel like I gave some of the spots one last chance to be memorialized before being destroyed. Makes me sad...

THe pilot is 15 minutes long and every location featured in the show is/was a famous UrBex spot that you will all probably recognize from the bay area. We shot around Vallejo, Rio Vista, Alameda, and more. Filming was done mostly run-and-gun but I tried very hard to leave the locations just as I found them, and didn't disturb anything too much. I hope this doesn't come off as advertising (I make literally no money off any of this sadly). But I do indeed just really want some legit urban explorers to check it out and see what y'all think since you guys are basically my heros.

If this does well I hope to make more episodes featuring more locations. I keep exploring every day and can't wait to make more. Anyway...

And here's a few stills to peak your interest:

I dig the video and I'd watch more. Something to note though. Careful jumping on stairs like that if you search around you can see stories of people falling through things they think are solid.

Haha, working on that right now! It's quite expensive for me to produces these but I'm saving up and gearing up for more.

Thanks man! Yeah I agree. Those particular stairs where in a building in Alameda. I tested them pretty well and they held up. But yeah it was definitely bit of a risk.

Thanks everybody I appreciate the compliments so much!

I want to know what role the boat is going to play in this fictionalized world of triple digit heat and no water nearby.

It doesn't really have a roll, mostly just a background prop for that one shot. The way I envisioned it was that it was once on water and now it's on land because a large amount of the lakes in CA evaporated.

Also, I had to throw it in there, I used to go drive by it on Highway 37 on my way to work all the time I always had that shot in my head!
