First thing I am going to say is that the walk there was blistering hot. The road to the Slaughter House is closed for about a mile so you will be walking whether you like it or not. My mistake was that I parked a lot farther than I had to, in fear that someone would screw with my car while I was gone. BIG MISTAKE.

The place was pretty cool and there was lots of cool ladders to climb if you're into that kinda thing. It's heavily vandalized so don't expect to see much that isn't covered in graffiti.

My biggest recommendation is to bring a bike or a longboard because the road to the location is closed.

Came up here a few months back right at the start of rain season, forgot to post the pictures. Ended up seeing some cows who seemed to have gotten stuck in the coral and the busted up oscilloscope we found seems to be hard to come by, only found 1 for sale going for a couple grand. On the way out it started to rain so we made great time.

It's crazy how much different the place looks when the grass is actually alive

Agreed! It looked like a barren waste land when I was out there last time

I was just there--and it was also blistering hot on the road there!
I also have some photos, and could share them on Flickr to show!

My bf asked me if I wanted to check out this particular location. There are no close places to park. Fortunately we were wearing our AirMax's. When we were approaching the gate, some random truck appeared. My man (he's such a cutie) said we should wait here and ask the driver "what's up". All we were told was, "sheriffs patrol the road sometimes" and a little more. Positive experience and good job exploring fans ⭐️⭐️😎🤘🏻💞
