Of this burned-down cannery, only some non-portable ironwork remains visible at low tide. I'd love to hear from a scuba diver who's checked out the rest.

Wow, that first shot is incredible! It's the last thing you'd expect to be there. It's cool to find stuff like that just lying about instead of inside somewhere.

One other relic I found in Craig (a reservation town) was on an overgrown trailer outside a sewage treatment plant:




At first glance, it's an Indian canoe--tourist bait. But it's not a dugout. It's made out of plywood, and it has a door cut in one side. A local explained to me that it was a parade float. Tribal elders used to ride in it during the town's annual Fourth of July parade. Ironic when you think about it; maybe that's why they abandoned it.
