Little Brown House (on the flats)

Heading back to where we were staying with my friends family, her nephew started pointing out abandoned houses and told us that he had explored a few of them already.

One of the places he pointed out, we stopped at.

It was difficult taking photos here with the kids popping around here and there and I was uncomfortable with having 4 other people with me, but it was still pretty cool and the people that lived in a nearby house obviously had no problems with us.

There was a dead (cat?) on a table in the basement where the window has busted out due to the foundation bowing and cracking. The cat was basically mummified and was missing its front legs. My photo was too overexposed to use.

It's funny the things people pick up in photos. I didn't even notice the green doorways. I was looking at the stuff in the room, the wood on the ceiling and floor as well as the rotted walls. Good eye!

I thought the green door frames were pretty interesting as well, but I was absolutely in love with the black and white checkered floor in the one room. (:

Cool effects. Did you get that perspective with a lens or in post process?

I shot these with my Samyang 14mm f/2.8
Post process in Photoshop Raw and used lens correction.

It's not at all a bad lens. (:

Sweet. I only have a rectilinear now but kind of want to get a fish eye. Can't really justify spending the money on it at the moment though.

What camera do you shoot with? I can help you find something that'll get the job done at low cost. I'm pretty good at saving money. hahaha
