The 1928 train tunnel was a sweet find! Once through the tunnel a bushwhacked trail continued to a open area with mechanical equipment just laying in the sun.

The machine find was pretty cool. I am not familiar with the types of machines or the what their original purpose was. Thank you!

Looks like an assortment of shock absorbers (for train cars maybe), boilers, and at least one mechanical press (the unit marked "Press 6"). Strange to find machinery left in a place like that, but you never know why or how it was put there.

I didn't know about the equipment yard, pretty good find!

You can make the "floating ring of fire" by getting some fine steel wool, a cheap kitchen whisk, some string (I use shoelace), and a lighter or matches. The whole thing can be bought for around 5 bucks in any grocery store. You place the steel wool inside the whisk, attach the whisk to the string, light it up and spin it around. To create the trail, just set your camera or phone to a longer exposure, to grab more of it in the image. Hope this helps .

It's a cool effect, but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE be careful. Don't do it when it's dry conditions and make for damn sure that you put out all the sparks. Carelessness with this technique is what burned down the Point Reyes boat:
