Now THIS is the kind of stuff I'm looking for! This is awesome!

Sweet
On the last pic what's that over the top of the dam, the flood gate controls or something else?

I'm unsure, but it is the object you see being climbed in the picture above

I'm sure you already know, but be SUPER careful on the rungs. I've grabbed my share that felt solid to the hand but snapped right off underfoot. Sometimes the rust and decay is only evident where the rung in embedded in the concrete, out of view.

Now that that is out of the way, allow me to congratulate you on an EPIC explore!

Very true.
That happened to a worker at a demo company I know. He started climbing a 70 foot concrete smokestack. About 40 feet up the first one bent, then another one under his foot, then the one in his hands.
There were three or four. No way to rope off; he was free climbing it.
He gingerly came safely back down. weeee!

Be very careful anytime anything is anchored in old concrete.

I appreciate the heads up! Luckily they did not go to far up.

this is an awesome find, you should tell more about it though, how'd you find it or navigate to it for example satellite imagery?

who did it belong to who built it? was it just flood control?

pics are nice but this begs for more details

thanks

Area used to be a very popular cliff jumping spot until it was closed down a couple of years ago. Navigating it was very challenging, classified as a high difficulty hike. Steep, unmaintained trails lead to decaying ladders and walkways in which if you fall, you will certainly die.

The dam was built about a hundred years ago by a private company.
