Last summer, I decided to check out the ghost town of Paldi. It was founded in the early 20th century as an Indo-Canadian community and lumber town with a saw mill. In 1921, a school and a sikh gurdwara were built; currently, the gurdwara is the only building still in use. After a downturn in the lumber industry, the community slowly turned into a ghost town.

There's five structures left in Paldi: the gurdwara, a storage building, an abandoned house, a small shed, and the old water tower. The water tower is the most interesting, in my opinion.

Here's my dad standing next to the tower for reference.

The house and the shed were the only buildings I was able to get into (the storage building is locked up tight). Neither were particularly interesting, the shed is empty, and the house is rotting and covered in graffiti.

We ended going in the hottest part of the day (which was a massive mistake). It's not particularly fascinating, but a good place to explore if you've got half an hour or so.
