Ive been out to Pigeon Point lighthouse numerous times. Ive seen the telephone booth there and last Saturday it struck me that these things are mostly gone from the american landscape. I figured I better get it while its still there.

There is no dial tone but there is a electric hum when you listen to the receiver.

Any phone booths in your area?!

It's so simple bit it would have a sentimental feel to it for sure. I did not grow up with telephone booths being commonplace. This may not really be an explore, but it sure holds onto the memory of a well known, yet dying out, piece of American culture (other cultures too). Times are changing..

I was watching Futurama last night. Dude saw a phone booth and threw out his cell phone saying "now I don't have to haul this thing around everywhere I go."

They really are an interesting part of history in a way.

Reminds me of the suicide booth scene. That show was gold!

Ha, funnily enough, I'm sitting in Davenport right now, across from two old school phone booths, and was thinking the same thing... These are very photogenic phone booths, btw!

I find them periodically and usually snap a pic! Bonus points when there's a phone book still intact. I'll try and find a couple and upload
