Hey guys, just wanted to post some pics of my first site I explored with my friends. We didn't have any high end cameras, just our phone cameras. Thus, really sorry for the crappy photo quality and crappy shots/perspectives. This site was an old communications office, factory and storage facility that closed down cerca 1990. They manufactured radio and connection equipment. This place was exciting to enter, as the first time we tried we were confronted by a bunch of crackheads. My favorite part of this site is that all the old documents like notes and manuscripts were left behind, so you could really get a feel for the place and you could really connect with the history of it. I hope you guys enjoy, once again really sorry for the bad quality photos.

Welcome to the site !!

Don't apologize for taking photos (whether you feel they are crappy or not)
You are exploring and that's what counts!

Looks like a great day was spent by all and the photos are not too shabby as they show us what you seen also

Thanks guys. Did some more digging around with the documents there, turns out it was a telecommunications lab and factory used to make radio equipment in WW2, but it was decommissioned in 1990 for some unknown reason.

What I like most about it is the lack of graffiti and vandalism.

Made the trip to this site yesterday, and I wasn't disappointed. The main building was all bordered up and I couldn't find a way in, but the smaller structures were filled with all sorts of surprises.

That's wickedly nice... it's so small outside but spacious inside, with all these antechambers and rooms

I agree! All of these shots were taken inside the three buildings on the very left of the first picture, all seemingly small sheds.

Nice photos!

The main building was boarded up a few months ago after that place was on the front page of the local newspaper. A few more pictures from the main building:

I can share a few details. The local news article mentioned that the city just bought the building from a private party. The article also specified that the place was "abandoned" and had "broken windows"... That's how I learned about that place, just in time before they closed it.

Anyone that's visited this place after getting boarded....is it sealed pretty tight or is it possible that a tweeker will open it up? I'm not planning on breaking in but I'm trying to get an idea on if this is worth my time or not.

There are three small buildings on the side of the large one that are not boarded up, and two that are. I imagine it's only a matter of time that someone tears down the smaller building boards (wooden).

As for the larger building, the main access point is closed by a lock and metal screen door. I think I remember that on the other side there is a door that is boarded up by a wooden panel and nails, but I'm not 100% sure. The windows also have screen metal panels across them, with the exception of one broken window high up the building (would need a ladder). There were dents on the lock, giving me the impression that someone already tried to break in, so I can't imagine that it will be boarded up much longer. I'm planning on checking it out soon

EDIT: I went back last night and the large building is still boarded up. Lock on one side, large wooden pannel on the other.
