Women's Dormitory: Shuttered for 50 years < on 9/19/2015 9:28 PM > | Reply with Quote
The building, Waldo Hall was built in 1907 to house Domestic Science department of the school which was known as the Oregon Agricultural College at the time. The building housed 115 students at one point. The building was repurposed as a class room building. The top floor, 4th floor was condemned and remained shuttered since the 1960s until it was renovated in 2012. Time was frozen in 1960s for half a century.

Posted by TomUE Those batteries are way older than the 60's probably early 20's for a very early TRF radio.

Perhaps the Colvumbia one. These were in the attic so they probably predate the disuse of the 4th floor. I believe No. 6 batteries were still available in 1960s. The next building over was built in 1915 and it uses the letter V in place of U too.

I believe you can still buy #6 batteries!! Those are old ones though.. The expiration date is stamped on the bottom of them. I have some that expired in 1926 that came with an old TRF radios set that look pretty similar. I didn't even notice the V instead of U. Very strange
