It's been a good day
Floating above the water
The sinking depression wading below me
While I trace my fingers in the inky black ripples.
As the day comes to an end
I can feel myself lower in the water
My toes dragging in the murk
When I am alone after a day with friends
I plummet into the depths
Splashing frantically as I drown in my sorrow
Fingers in the air, reaching above the surface
Reaching for hope
