So this was a spontaneous explore after happily filling ourselves with pizza and small chat. Most of these pictures are courtesy of Ganesha (you'll be able to tell which ones, mine are taken on a phone that refused to focus). We also went with spoonerific, and suadansky95.

2. Lots of empty seats for viewing the race

3. Some lovely decaying stairs - Fire Exit

4. Wires

5. Roof Access

6. View from the roof (crappy pic, yes I know)

7. Kennels for the dogs. There were at least four buildings full or more of these. Even after all these years, some of the buildings still smelled like dog.

8. This sweet and creepy little crawl opened up into the score counter billboard thing. I am not sure what those are actually called. I imagine when this place was operational, there was actually a door here.

9. Some kind of electrical components. We were unsure of their uses, but I would guess for the lights in the board. There were probably 15 of these things.

What an interesting location to explore. I kind of forgot that racing dog tracks are a thing. Thanks for sharing, sounds like I missed a fun time!

Awesome location, nice photos too (especially the first one).

Sad I missed the meet-up; we rolled back into town after dark. That's always the problem, but idk it's usually worth it for the lighting.

Here's a chuuch I found around the time I should've been back to catch up with you all:

That church is beautiful. Any more shots of it? Sorry to miss you.

The Portland group was very friendly. One person had trouble traversing the racetrack POE, making it with patient help. Penetrating the thicket of blackberries, the curse of northwest ruins, was almost as much trouble. More pics:

1. The grandstand is fully enclosed, so gamblers can root for their animals in comfort.

2. Playing with broken glass.

3. So you made a backup copy, and you think your system is safe?

4. This is disturbing.

Amado

2. specific locations where injuries occur:
from the box and into the first turn

3. type of injuries occurring in locations named in 2:
dropped shoulder muscles and rear muscles, broken hocks

4. causes of injuries as described in 2 and 3

5. Do location, causes and types of injuries vary with day vs. night racing?:
no

So glad this place is no longer in use. Like horse racing, dog racing is horribly cruel.

The electronic gadgetry in #9 is called a variac. Its used to reduce the line voltage. The components in the score board must have operated on a lower voltage than 120.

Good work! I know when I tried finding a way in years ago, I learned the easy way the alarm system was active and police had regular patrols in there.

My guess is they gave up because there was no one, nothing, and not even a no trespassing sign. *shrug*

As I understand, that was when it was still owned by the operator; its now owned by Wood Village.

No issues with the "security" trailer / caretaker I take it?

Not sure when you visited last but there was no one there and we didn't see any signs of life.

Interesting place! I'm tempted to make the drive to check it out, locations are a dime a dozen lately! Or maybe I've just been everywhere haha Great shots all! Jenny, we should definitely connect.
