so far those have kept me out....any one been caught on military property yet?

I actually had a small ~50 acre bit of land behind my house with those signs up and I used to run around on it all the time. As far as I could tell it was only a forest (no range/buildings at all) and I only occasionally saw those massive tire tracks. Never knew what it was for the longest time as I always knew them as DND.

Where did you see that? I bet you'd have a veeeeery hard time talking your way out of that one if you got caught.

Obvious signs/sounds that I am not alone.
I am not one to like running into strangers in an abandoned place.

Normal 'Video Surveillance' signs aren't enough to keep most of us out, what things have you guys seen that turn you off a place forever?

For me it was when I was exploring an old water treatment plant that smelled very faintly like a pool, but worse at the one POE I found. As I made my way around to the other side of the compound I saw this:

Don't plan on going back there soon

I'm surprised it still smelled of it.

I once visited a school with a "Beware of Dog" sign, everything seemed fine until we were inside and heard a dog bar. The damn thing scared the shit out of me, turned out it was in a cage across the street.

Above all else: Active power lines/meters. Along with that, security cameras or alarm systems. Or fresh-looking real estate signs - I was caught by a real estate agent once... That sucked.

"Beware of Dogs" signs are usually fake, in my experience. The one time I've ever actually run into "guard dogs", they were quite big and scary, but once they got up to you, they would just sniff you and wag their tails.

I had a similar experience. Walked up to a location with a "beware of dogs" sign, heard dogs barking but it was far away.. Few minutes later theres two dogs charging at us. Scary at first but they just wanted some pats.

I agree there, I'd think training guard dogs properly and having them on hand at a facility would take a lot of money and time to maintain. Especially compared to what could be accomplished with a monitor bank and a dozen cameras (then be promptly undone by sleepy guards).

Here's something I ran across the other day:

Despite the fact the house was caving in on itself it was this that caused me an expedient exit.

Except this, this will keep me away from a place and make me run screaming. Especially if I only find it because I hear something huffing and hissing in a corner and flash my light on it.

I was with a group exploring an old brewery when we found an entire room full of abated asbestos. By that I mean literal piles of asbestos strewn all over the room.

We obviously did not go into that room. It was startling as fuck to see at night.

Oh good, my slow clap processor made it into this thing.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it was a turkey vulture or a black vulture. That thing scared the shit out of me. We walked into an attic that had only two light sources(window and hole in the roof), the corner the bird was in was completely dark. When we got in we heard something scraping around and a weird noise and we figured it was trees scraping the roof, until we walked to the ladder and heard something run by and I saw the legs, one of my friends screamed at a higher pitch than a male should be able to, and ran out of the room. Then I flashed my light at it and my other friend ran away too. You can't see it in the picture but that thing was easily the size of my torso or bigger.

Poison oak.
FUCK. THAT. SHIT.

I was once wading through waist-high brush searching for an overgrown military bunker. I managed to come across a beehive, got stung 5 times, and also got the worst poison oak of my life. I later found the bunker using an alternate route.

Keep in mind, this is Texas. Shoot first, ask later.

This guy actually got in his truck and chased me after I just took a photo of the sign (okay, so I forgot my flash was on...)!
