Great pics. I would love to explore that cave(s). Is it natural or manmade or a bit of both?

Thanks. It's a natural cave of the 'Karst' variety, which is formed by water soluble rocks being dissolved by water over time.

The concrete block is just for capping. It had been sealed at one point by authorities too, I believe.

That's really cool you found this. How deep inside did you go?
I wandered for more than an hour before I started feeling lightheaded and couldn't think. That's when headed out. It took three days to feel normal.
After doing a little research. I found out that youth from the nearby learning center had Halloween parties down there. Hauling bails of hay into the cave for someplace to sit and some ambiance. When the bails got pulled out some hay was left stuck in the mud. The rotting plant matter gave off CO2. Over time the poor ventilation led to elevated CO2 levels. A buddy of mine won't even go in there without oxygen.
Be careful out there.

Very cool graffiti up top. I've only been to Santa Cruz a couple times. I'll have to look more closely next time!

I was in this cave a long time back. Good to know that someone still knows about it. If you bring rope you can get way back in there. Its a muddy trip but fun. I think we got like 5 or 6 chambers back.
