It's fair to say that 2014 has been the best year of my life for numerous reasons, not just for explores. I managed to cross off my entire top five 'must see' list in the latter half of the year, something I have never succeeded in doing in any other year of explores before - the bad thing is I now need to find a new top five 'to do' list! But with more trips to America planned it shouldn't be too hard.
I only took one trip to the continent this year, a four day trip through France, Luxembourg and Belgium in blazing, glorious late July sunshine, but the lack of subsequent Continental trips was eclipsed by my life-changing seven weeks spent touring around the north-eastern United States in September and October. I made some lifelong friends during that time and I can't wait to go back.
I saw some truly incredible places this year, met some awesome people, and did more than I could ever have imagined sitting here 12 months ago. So without further ado, here is a photo highlight from everywhere I visited in 2014...

Great year! Nice to see that swimming pool in here. I was wondering what you hit in the northeast US. Give me a shout next time you are over here in western New York!
I really like 38 because it looks like such an huge place. 41 just looks like a fun time. I love places like that. What was 15? That looks pretty cool.
I think this time of year is my favorite. I love seeing everything that people have done throughout the year and their takes on locations and the hobby in general. Excellent shots, good luck in 2015!

I'm heading over to NY in February, so I'll definitely hit you up it's always nice to have more contacts!
Both #8 and #15 were dry ski slopes, #8 was a small local one to me and #15 is the biggest one in the country, both closed down after separate fires destroyed the lodge buildings on the sites.
