Hey, so I have heard rumor of perhaps 1 UER in my area, yet to ask him. Was wondering if there is anyone in the central area willing to meet up with me for a trip like they recommend in the rules about this place? I know all the good stuff is in the Seattle side of the mountains but current vehicle restricts ability of going that far out at the moment. But I can meet anywhere from Ellensburg to Sunnyside and the general areas. Anyone or group willing to hitch me and my partner along for a trip?

Whos in Washington at least. General areas, hell one day this summer I plan to go to Idaho and maybe even Seattle again.

Central Washington Area Resident here.
Distance willing to travel with casual planning:
Ellensburg
Yakima
Wapato
Sunnyside

Trips more thoroughly planned capable:
Seattle and any of the cities in the area or between Seattle and Central WA passes
Walla Walla (Never been there at all)
Spokane and Idaho border area
Portland, OR

Hope to hear some responses from the locals. I know theres few of us in this region by comparison.

My roommates and I have been itching for a good trip. We're stationed on JBLM but definitely are willing to hit central WA if you know some good places. Have a truck also if 4WD is required for any locations. As long as it's on a weekend I'd love to come out for it.

UER=website. You might get some flak for saying things like that ;)

I have not been much to Central WA, but I heard rumours about former missile bases from the 60s, who knows. It's all farmland and deserts afterall.

I've mapped some out based on descriptions from friends who grew up around there, old maps, etc. and cross-referencing with satellite imagery. I've got roughly 8 or 12 (I've got a group mapped back home on the east coast as well and don't remember which coast had how many) pinned but haven't visited the locations to verify if anything's there yet. There's also a tourism company operating out of one of the old silos that lets you SCUBA dive in the flooded tunnels/elevator (it's at the same location as one of the ones I mapped out, so I'm assuming my mapping skills are halfway decent and accurate for the rest).

The missile sites are pretty easy to find as they are public record -- some maps out there on the net if you look for em, prob not too hard via google and will save you some time.

I like doing the legwork myself if I'm not in a hurry, makes me feel more accomplished when I'm right.

So the question is, do people wanna do this? Who has some general area reccomendations? Anyone know a place theyve been to that they can take a group to sometime and make it worth the trip? Meaning a place that takes more than 2 hours to fully see that a group of atleast 5 could get into? Only one spot on my belt now. Not that big of a deal to make anyone come for. City ideas?
