This video presents a small intro of a project that I hope to grow further with every day. I will be converting the rust and destruction through images of abandonment and decay, to sounds through a spectrograph.

I hope everyone can enjoy this short intro video.

The project has begun!

Wild project. Nice to see people pushing the limits though.

Yeah! I hope to generate a lot more ideas as it progresses. I already figure I will modify and mess with the resulting sounds as much as I can and create a whole album from it with my music.

Wow.

This is actually a fucking awesome idea.

I can't wait to see how the album turns out.

Good art here, man.

As others have noted, this is a really good idea. I wonder if juxtaposing images of spectacular life (the Super Bowl, Jennifer Lawrence, Imagine Dragons or whatever) against your UE images wouldn't create neato sounds?

You betcha

Nice one! I'm working on composing music soundtracks to UE videos, and vice versa, at the moment. It's cool to see somebody making a literal connection between image and sound. I wonder what a spectrograph would make of a video? There would be so much change. Maybe it could create a summary of each frame of the video? It would be interesting if Photosounder or something like it would import video files. All the best for your project, and I'll definitely keep an eye out for your progress.

I am actually going to touch on that tomorrow. I have a great idea for it and I will mention it in the video I am going to make for tomorrow's update. Awesome!

Take a picture of a long picket fence, instant dubstep. What if you isolate the sound to specific frequencies to make some individual tones to mix into the "mist" of sound from a whole image, could be a cool thing to try.

I just saw the update video now. I was hoping it wouldn't be a painstaking frame grab operation! Oh well. Awesome if you have patience. Good to see you also use Premiere Pro. Meanwhile, I've been having fun feeding fragments of spoken word recordings into Space Designer in Logic to create urbex video soundtracks. Here's an audio and video link. Have fun, and I look forward to your next update!
