Judging form what I've been hearing about this place, it might be best to do in the middle of the night if you must see it. Not going to be optimal for photography, but you get bragging rights for pulling it off apparently!

But honestly, even with the great pictures and nice sections of the place, 80-90% of it is repetitive hotel room after hotel room. Weigh out the risks I guess?

Man, we have a Radical Ed and and a Radical Fred… UER is officially set now.

The first time I went here, we were escorted off the property in the back of the caretaker's truck. Second time, we could only access the skating rink. Fuck this place, I think they pay the caretaker in gold bars, dude is on point.

Damn, this place is incredible. Hopefully it becomes more available for activity soon...

Stupid thought maybe,but as anyone tried the friendly direct approach with the caretaker ? Like bribe him with coffee and donuts in order to get a small tour of the inside.Could work,don't know

This is gorgeous! I always wish I could visit these places when they were in their prime.

The best part about hotels is everything but the rooms. If you limit yourself to that you don't see anything interesting. "Behind the scenes" if the hotel is the exciting part

I doubt that. This is probably one of the hardest places I've done.

The security people work for the surrounding residential community, not just for the hotel. They're not going away anytime soon.

There was a small white house at the foot of the hotel driveway that was also abandoned, however it was recently fixed up and I've seen security cars parked next to it. I believe they're going to be basing security out of there now going forward.

In addition, while it's highly unlikely to happen, they have granted permission to access the site within the past few years. I've seen photos from someone who was given a tour of the exchange floor/main floor in 2011 by the principal owner.

Like the security @ the uber-l33t generating station about 90 minutes away, he will talk your goddamed ear off.
I spent a solid 90 mins listening to this guy run his mouth and brag about catching kids trying to break in.

Here is the plan.

Get a group together, send one off to talk to the caretaker. When that person gets contact, they send a message to the explore group.

That`s the bones of it.

Someone I know went here a few months ago and got inside. They entered in the middle of the night by unscrewing a board somewhere and left in the afternoon. Ran into a ranger or something while walking. Nothing happened.

he said it was a mess inside.


For anyone calling the caretaker a dick: He's just doing his job and doing it well. If they were to let anyone inside, they would have done it already. The owners probably don't want anyone getting hurt there, too much of a liability.

If all locations had someone doing the caretakers job this well, we wouldn't be able to get in anywhere.

I think the allure of it is more enticing than the actual place.
