The Story so far and my first try at some decent photos (boxhill brickworks)

So I'm basically doing this in part to keep a record for me and part cause my vanity demands it so!

My hometown Donald has only two abandonments, one which is an old hut that since on my family's property.
The other being an abandoned meatworks that has been abandoned in Donald's "industrial area".

There were plenty of other cool places to explore around the country side, and one day I'll go back to get a couple of great shots but for the meantime I live in Melbourne which has only slightly more places to explore .

I've managed to find a few of the more common abandonments and drains and have had a blast exploring them with a few of my housemates and friends but just this last week got my hands on a hand-me-down camera- A fujifilm S800, not the greatest of cameras but certainly better than my phone's.

So with camera in hand I rushed down to the Box Hill Brickworks and took these few happy snaps and whilst there managed to run into a Father-Daughter duo who were quite the camera crew and a Graffitist who had just once again laid claim to his wall, a dispute which he has been having with another guy who he's yet to meet but he knows he goes by "PIENK" or whatever they wrote- oh the clarity

1. Yes!!!! my first professional shot ever this is so amazing I cant wait to-.... well that was shit

2. How the fuck do I work this camera??

3. Hey that turned out better.

4. I'm a fucking artist! (beams of self-pride/blissful ignorance)

7. I'm pretty sure everybody takes this shot when they're here- doesnt stop it from being my favourite

12. The 3rd level, many people worry about the flimsy staircase but I worry more about the damn pigeons startling me while I'm trying to balance

15. A shaft from the top floor straight to the bottom- I found it slower yet wiser to take the stairs.

16. The View from the top of the brickworks, I have since discovered that the world has a slight blue tinge and my photography is unquestionably brilliant

17. Inside the Kiln

18. The Graffitist taking stock of his work in the corner
