Thick as a Brick

Last stop on our SP.E.C.T.R.E. southern journey was an abandoned brick factory, nothing we sought out, just a victim of opportunity. It would have been nice to see this place a few months ago before the demo started but there were still some fun shots to be found. The brick dust was thick and everywhere, flooded and turned to muck in places. My boots are still crusty with it. I cant even imagine how unbearably hot this place must have been for the people who worked here eight to ten hours a day when it was active. I wonder how many bricks the company actually made here during its lifespan, I wonder how many buildings we have explored that were built with those bricks.

Maybe next go round we head..... East?

What was down #6?

<kicks camera to the curb>

Well done!

When I say I'm 'clean and sober', it means I've showered and I'm headed to the liquor store.

I'm not sure what that did was used for, but the junk at the end was brick and stuff from a small collapsed structure at the end of the tunnel. I found where the collapse was on the outside, but failed to take a picture.

I really like #s 3 & 9 (the latter being quite unusual).

Thank you everyone, glad you enjoyed the set. Shot #3 was of the kiln where all the bricks were fired. Shot #6 was literally a tunnel-o-muck that ended in a collapsed pile of bricks that I could not get past. I'm also curious as to where that went, maybe some other lower level. It was a very large place with lots of buildings so anything is possible. I was pleased with how shot #9 came out and it just struck me as looking down a row of trees in a forest so I called it as I saw it.
