I went to go pick up some film today at the camera store downtown and they told me it would be about 15 minutes, so I decided to go literally across the street and check in on my pet building. The door to the 1st floor was locked, but there was an open window in the stairwell that I was able to get up to and get on a roof and then to another open window on the 2nd floor. Looks like they've really slowed down on construction. Not much (if anything) has changed since the last time I was here several months ago. I also found a letter to a guy who was squatting there for some time and the envelope in which the letter came. I snagged the letter and envelope and I'm gonna mail the letter back to him tomorrow. Hopefully, I'll hear back from him and he'll fill me in on what it was like living there.

I'm going hunting tonight for the weekend, should be fun.

Oh and if anyone reading this knows anything about the Mamiya rb67, they are selling one with a 90mm lens and I think a back for 300 bucks at the camera shop...good deal?

I found what may be the funniest comic strip on the planet today.
http://cheston.com/pbf/archive.html Absolutely hysterical.

Oh and I went back to look at the Mamiya yesterday, it was mistagged...The lens is 300 and the body is another 730. So I guess that's out.

Still haven't heard from the squatter. Hope that pans out.

Mood: Unseasonably fatigued

I just got back from downtown, a failed mission. I was gonna go to a building under construction and dick around on the roof and in the basement and whatnot, but there is still too much activity and traffic downtown right now that I don't think it's safe, and I don't have the energy to go back later tonight. Maybe on Tuesday or sometime during the week. I'm thinking traffic will be a lot lighter during the work week. I think I need someone to explore with simply so I don't say, "Fuck it. I'm tired, and I'm going to bed."
tommorow, I'll be heading out into the wild Panhandle again to check up on a place I saw when we were driving home from hunting, about an hour from here. Hopefully It'll pan out.

Damn... I was gonna say, $300 for an RB+lens is hella good if it's in decent condition.

Argh! I'm trying to find some good Native American tribal chants and stuff, but all I can seem to find to download are gay ass relaxation/pure moods/hippy-do-good tribal buffalo shit, and not the *real* thing. I'm looking for actual ethnophonographical files of the real Native American war songs and that sort of thing, but they seem to be hard to come by. Fuck Enigma.

Post Script. Sweet, I found a few files that were just what I was looking for.

Sweet! My squatter made contact with me via email. He said that him and his roommate travel across the country squatting in abandoned/under construction buildings as they go. They were living in that building around the time I first started exploring it, so I most likely ran into them (but avoided the room they were in cause I thought I heard something in there) back then. They also have alot of pics and stories of the place that they wanna share with me, and I likewise want to share my pics and stories with them. This is exciting. The whole time I was in Dallas this past weekend, I kept thinking about how cool it was. I'm nerdy like that.

I'm at a loss over what to do. See, I go to this Starbucks to study alot because I don't get anything done at home or school because I have a net connexion there (and I end up here of all places) and I like to people watch, and best of all, I get hooked up with free joe all the time. So about 10 days ago this dude sat next to me and started chatting. He was nice and all, actually pretty interesting to talk to even. The only problem is I don't go there to talk. And I really don't like talking to strangers. Guess my parents really drilled that one home back in the day... So after what seemed like forever, I was able to get a word in edgewise and tell him I had to leave. Okay, freak occurance, I'll never see him again. Wrong. Two days later, I go back and dammit!, he's there again. Again with the lies and I leave. So now my good study spot is tainted. I went back today and went through the drive thru so I could ask the cashier to tell me if he was there or not. He wasn't so I went in. Once inside, I started talking to this guy I go to school with, and he tells me "Dave" has been asking about me. Shit. I've got a new buddy it seems. This really wouldn't be so bad, but there's really no where else for me to study. I went to the other starbucks yesterday, but it was too small and I couldnt find an outlet to plug my laptop into since my battery is fucked. But they did give me some free coffee, so they get points for that. But, I need a place that has decent traffic (people), and has coffee, and has outlets I can use. Those are my demands for a study spot. This town sucks. I fucking hate Amarillo. There is no where else to go in this whole cow-shit-stinking "city."

Mood: distraught

There's a starbucks every 30 feet in the Vancouver area. Just move up here and it'll be fine.
