Chornobyl Daytrip

Not sure if the government in Ukraine is still allowing companies to do these tours. I went in September of 2011. It costs about two hundred Canadian (which is about what the average Ukrainian makes in a month). The entire experience last about eight hours from downtown Kiev and back. You need to be careful since there are still radiation "hotspots" that could make you ill if you spend too much time around them. Just pay close attention to your guide, and wear protective clothing if you are paranoid. Make sure you thoroughly wash your clothing, or just make sure you wear things you don't mind throwing out when you return. This goes especially for your shoes.
