Ethics
entry by Viper
7/1/2004 7:06 AM

My personal stance on ethics is this: I do not own nor have permission to be inside a place I am exploring. Therefore I am a guest. Do people break doors or take things when they are a guest at a friend's place? Hell no. So why is it right somewhere else? It is satisfying to leave a location knowing no one will able to tell that I was there; like a wraith (pun intended). Not unless I ask and have the permission of a locations' owner or caretaker to take a souveneir will I take something. So far I have not asked or taken a single item from a location. My sole purpose being inside these places is simply to look, and take some pictures. It is human nature to explore and discover things of the unknown. I am not saying my stance is right and just, I am saying it is a viewpoint every explorer should think about.
