With all the fireworks going off around here all day - illegal fireworks, I might add - life here is like living in a war zone, without any of the benefits. I'm in agony, unable to do much but sleep, and immature pyromaniacs are keeping me from doing so.

Since the alien shows no sign of leaving anytime soon, I've chosen to try and decide on a name to call her, as calling her simply "the alien" or "the cat" seems somehow degrading, and there's still the good chance that she's a hottie in her natural form. I'm torn between "Maxine", after the late, great Max Action, "Gabrielle", after Xena's sapphic sidekick, or "Vicki", after my first computer, a Commodore VIC-20. Upon questioning, she seems to have no preference, so it's up to me to decide, I suppose. Such a heady responsibility!
