So, with the rainy season upon us and so many people encouraging me to get out and see Ord, who's interested? My weekends are free straight through New years, so I'm pretty open to leaving Oakland early and spending the whole day, carpooling, meeting up with others interested, etc. I'm overdue to see this place and at the 2 meetups I've been at, several others have mentioned a willingness to go back....

Just let me know when and I'll give you, or anyone else who wants to go, a tour of the place (I'm just really jonesing for some Saritas mexican food as well).

Storm coming in.. supposed to piss down all week, but I'm ready to go out there again soon.

Yeah, I'll probably hit up Tahoe this weekend for just this reason. We'll see how conditions are. I haven't been to Ord in a while, maybe the weekend of the 8th and 9th next month. Let me know what you guys think.

Sounds good to me. I'll keep an eye on the local forecast.

Cool, I'll let you know the scoop. If anyone else is interested or wants to chime in please do, maybe we can get a small group together. Ords still really easy with groups of people, so why not.

There are still a couple of spots I havent been to as well, like the bunkers on the beach and parts of the old DOD building. Always more to see at Ord.

Unfortunately the beach bunker doors have been blocked with heavy concrete blocks, not sure why.

Yeah, not like there was anything in there worth taking. Maybe they're afraid someone may accidentally, or be dumb enough to lock themselves in there.

I'm interested in a visit as I've never been there before and I'm really curious to see what I've been missing. The weekend of Dec 8/9 works for me too. Hopefully the rain will be gone by then.

I'd like to check it out, and the 8th/9th looks good for me too, at least I have nothing planned, not sure about what else might crop up last minute, but as of now, I'm game.

My wife's work christmas party is on the evening of the 8th. Nothing worse than attending a work function on the weekend. I'm completely free and clear the following weekend, but it's also the last weekend before Christmas....understandable if people with families, etc just cant do it.
And of course, don't let me stand in the way of you guys doing the 8th and 9th....

We can always do this after the New Year..if the prophecy doesn't come true that is, and we're all still here..lol. After all Seedy, you were the one that suggested the idea. Just don't come crying if the apocalypse happens on the 21st, that's all..lol.

yeah, I know....despite what Neil deGrasse Tyson says, I still want to pack as much Exploring in before the end of the year! Because I'm free and clear the 15th and 16th, I think I'm going to head down that weekend. Again, I'm open to a budget over nighter (especially considering the short days right now) or just a dawn till dusk Saturday.....

I may be able to get away Saturday 15th for a few hours in the a.m. Saturdays are good cuz there's always a chance there maybe someone working over at the prison who may let us in.

You dont frequent the Reddit forum, do you Seedy....LOL. I dont have anything planned for the 15th yet. Besides Xmas holiday most of the month (weekend wise) is free for me. Let me know when you guys want to solidify this. I would down for an all day explore.
