Finally visited this place after wanting to for a while. It was pretty easy to get into the grounds. Can't believe how close it is to Porth Y Felin House. Two stunning derelict buildings practically within spitting distance of each other!

My Nain (Grandma) is very interested in local buildings and architecture and has a few books on the subject. I managed to find a little information on Soldier's Point in one of her books. I don't know if anyone else is interested but I like to know a little bit about the history of the places I'm visiting.

“Built by Charles Rigby [contractor for Holyhead breakwater] for himself, weakly Gothic with a landscape of embattled walls”

It is of the same period as Porth Y Felin House (just down the lane) which was built by Rigby in c. 1849 for the resident engineer.

It's not much info but it's the most I can seem to find!
