Is this part of the whold redevelopment project over there? I've noticed a huge area fenced off, and there are abandoned buildings in the fenced off area. Those include...
Decades (Nightclub)
K-mart
Bank One
I-hop (or wafflehouse, theyre all the same)
Mcdonalds
A gas station
This Place
and a house?
I'm interested, because the whole area is fenced off and all of these buildings are abandoned. Somethings up, because they dont all go out of buisness at the same time, and just board up and leave. I want to go check it out, these all seem really interesting. If anyone knows anything, it would help.
Nice Pics!

It'll make this easier to follow if the discussion isn't split into two threads...

I went over there on tuesday, and there where a whole bunch of construction people tearing the place down. I wish I had my camera, I would have taken some pictures. Its too busy to go during the day, they had the FD over there. My friend B-dog and I are going back at night sometime. To much construction during the day....

Went over there again on saturday night, jumped the fence in front of traffic, very dumb idea. Anyway, the blue apartments are gone with alot of other stuff. There was a generator running there despite the fact it was 11:45 At night. I didn't mess with it. We jumped the fence Kung-Fu style and running back my friend B-dog slipped on some broken glass next to the church, nearly ate shit. Anyway, it was a spur-of-the-moment thing, so I didn't have a flashlight. We didn't accomplish much other than look around and scare some poor old bum at
I-hop....

when I was there, that generator was running at around 3AM so we followed the cord. We thought it might power a room for security or something but what we found shocked me beyond words. It powered (get this) a fan. Yeah, that was it. A giant fan outside on the walkway of the apartment/motel with the cool staircase. Very confusing.

Yeah, I noticed that too. What the hell was that all about? From what we saw, it looked like it went in to that old piano and furniture building facing colfax. It almost looked like it went through a giant pipe or something. Then there was like a wood board with holes in the front of the store. Maybe their trying to keep the dust down?

Well was it a fixed generator or was it one of those mobile ones? If it was a mobile one you should be carefull because someone would be back every once in a while to fill it with gas.

It was mobile, but It wasn't gas. Couldn't be loud enough to be gas, i think they have it running off something.

I drove by the place this evening, and it's almost completely torn down. Looks like the only two buildings left are the bank and the (?)breakfast place. 'Better hurry if you want to do any more work with the dead intersection.
