Brickworks boarded up

Sometime between the 10th and the 25th, some new security measures were put up at the Brickworks, mainly a big sheet of plywood over the main entrance. The other doors looked either boarded up or welded shut.

We did the whole perimiter. We didn't try every door (it was a nice day and there were lots of people about) but we have a feeling it's all locked down.

This is bad news for Brickworks fans.

Its bad news for now. But now that the weather is getting better, I can't imagine any of those boards staying up for very long. The brickworks is too big a target for kids who want to party. Give it time and I'm sure some entracnes will open up again. Although now I'm tempted to see exactly what's been done.

That sucks :/

I wasn't there all that long ago (probably around the 10th or so would sound right), it was wide open, as per usual.

I know someone was injured there not too long ago, as I heard the fire department get called there for a person injured from a fall...maybe it's something related...but no idea if this happened in the old part or on the grounds.

Not too long ago? In the last two weeks? It might explain it. I'm very surprised anyone would go to those lengths to keep people out of the Brickworks.

Blah blah blah rant about stupid kids not being careful.

It won't be hard to find another way in. I mean, other than waiting for vandals, we have a wide selection of other (fairly obvious if you've ever been to the 'works) choices.

[edit: added that last paragraph there]

I was going to go with a friend last night, but we got horribly lost on a path getting there...

There's one other entrance I'm thinking of that is probably wide open and easy to access...obviously I'm not going to post it, but if you've ever been there, you probably know what I mean.

Seriously, Ex, if it's big and obvious, it's welded shut and/or boarded up.

I can assure everyone that there is at least one easily accessible entrance still open; having used it today; all you have to do to get in through this entrance is hop the perimeter fence and walk through, its not too hard to find.

There's a few other entrances, but yes, that one is blaringly obvious. Anyone who's been there before most likely knows exactly what we're talking about.

Alright, folks, no problem anymore. The main entrance has been opened up again by people not affiliated with this site (probably the Rosedale Krew looking for a place to party).

lostflock and I checked it out a while ago and it's open. Pouch found another entrance that we'd never noticed before as well, and we were informed by a homeless man taking shelter in the Brickworks that there was another entrance as well that we'd never even heard mentioned.

So we've no shortage of entrances, even if the place does get boarded up completely once again. Including the one Ex is talking about, I'd say we have, oh, four ways in.

Entrances blocked up again. From the inside, proably the work of a certain someone who has no business blocking up entrances anyway. Some of the most dependable entrances are now unusable or too dangerous.

The worthless homeless guy squatting the place piled up all sorts of shit over some of the doors. Excessive amounts of stuff. Copious amounts of heavy debris which makes me wish he did better things with his time, like maybe take a shower and look for a job. But I digress, I'm annoyed.

You can still get in, however you might have to be, well, resourceful. That, and really disrespectful of his obstacles.

The Brickworks has been re-fenced and re-boarded with the coming of Spring. Yes, that's right, no more stepping over a fence and walking in. Of course there's at least one way in without having to go through too much trouble ;)

Also at least one of the squatter barricades have been removed and replaced.

Fence already has a hole in it XD and by poking around at boards I found some dozen entrances and met up with some random explorers already inside too.

Here's a lockpick. It might be handy if you, the master of unlocking, take it with you.
