As of today, 10/22/09, there appears to be an effort under way to finish the demolition, as truckloads of rubble and debris are being moved off the site. It was not immediately active, but there is more missing than there was 3 weeks ago, and the trucks doing the moving were sitting on the property.

Bummer- there was a lot missing when I went, and it was pretty cool (in my opinion), for what was left. Wish I'd seen this earlier in its life as an abandonment.

This place is for all intents and purposes dead...there is a lot more missing than there used to be, I thought maybe work on it would have stopped for the winter (and it may have), so I figured I'd try it one more time yesterday, seeing as it's one of the few locations close enough for me to bike to. And it's hard to tell how much of the demolition is due to humans, and how much from nature (the second floor was so rotten that I fell in twice in April and May), but there's so much gone now it isn't even worth coming back to, especially if you've seen it before its demise.

I was there last week- there was some serious roof collapsage- it's not really practical to even get to the second floor of the surplus building (not the silos). It's probably doable, but would require a lot of risk tolerance to make it around the recently collapsed part.
