When we lived in Brantford some 10 years ago we were told by locals that Massey Ferguson went under because the workers got greedy, and would sabotage equipment just as it was ready to go out the door so they would get OT to take it apart and fix it in time for the customer.

Then they closed shop and everyone went on welfare and thus the continuing sense of depression in the town.

Good for UE-ers cause lots of empty buildings

we only stayed in Brantford for 1 year because the company we worked for went under (great) and then there was no work to be found at all. So we moved back to Barrie.

I'm not sure if I by the "greedy workers" bit, management is always quick to run its mouth when it goes under, always blaming the workers....

I bet they just consolidated and started making them in places like china or India, where everything is going these days.
