The reason the tower may not have been tore down . ??..... It may have been to costly

Doubtful as the terminal itself more than likely cost more to demolish. I believe it is going to be preserved as a monument to the airport, similar to what Denver Co. did when they tore down Stapelton airport (they left the tower).

I agree; I'm not sure what form or function it will wind up in, but I think they wanna preserve it. It's something of an Austin icon.
