This is more of a guilty indulgence site... I actually went here in kindergarten for a class trip. I was 5 years old. I remember it very well. Shortly after I went here, it closed due to flooding from the river. It is still on the side of the road, the parking lot almost grown over. Another lost Adirondack toy in the middle of the mountains.

It's a tough place to find; I have driven through Upper Jay on several occassions and always kept my eyes open.

Arto Monaco worked for Disney as an animator as well as a theme park designer. His "Santa's Workshop" in North Pole, NY predates Disneyland(?- the one in Florida) by almost a decade.
He died in November.

The easiest way to find this place is to head north in Upper Jay. Route 9N makes a right to head towards Keeseville. The park is like 1/4 mile from that right turn. The last time I was up that way (October), the sign was still there, but the parking lot has really grown over.
