The "humming building" is probably the one that contains the gigantic blowers that keep air moving through the three bores of the Caldecott tunnel below your feet. There used to be two train tunnels up there, one for the electric trolley system and one for the choo choo trains. The tracks were removed for scrap and the second tunnel was closed by a mudslide (long ago) on your end, making it almost invisible. I have been told that both tunnel entrances still exist on the Oakland side of the hill but I've never tried to look for them.

Old thread but a couple videos showing supposed tunnel locations popped up on youtube last year.

There are a couple of doors and walkways that branch outwards from inside the Caldecott Tunnel. Has anyone walked down those walkways? I was thinking they lead underground, or the top of the tunnel portal.

I think I am wrong. The Old Broadway Tunnel is not directly above the Caldecott Tunnel. Due to the instability of the Old Broadway Tunnel, it's leakage, and it's cave ins, I doubt that they would put the Caldecott right underneath it. Does anyone know where the Old Broadway Tunnel actually runs. From what I've got surfing the internet, it is behind Saroni Drive in Oakland, and it more than likely runs through Sibley.

Gave out the wrong information. The Broadway is separate from the Oakland Antioach and Eastern Railway.
