This similiar cab design (not sure if it was gas turbine or not) ran between NYC and Montreal in the late 80's into the 90's when it just disappeared. One day we saw it, the next day it had been replaced by the more conventional looking engine. I had pics of the that particular train, but after 5 or 6 moves since 1993, they have been lost.

In fact, when I saw this gallery, I at first thought it was the missing train.

The Turboliners did travel on some of the other Empire Corridor routes. I don't know if it was on the Adirondack or not.

the paint was different on the one that ran the Adirondacker... it may have said Turboliner on the side of it, but I don't remember the engines being as large as the one in Glenville... of course, we are talking about 15+ year old memories.
