Last wednesday we took a visit,D-v-S Baleze and I....for our usual pilgrimmage from Wellington tunnel to the Fruit Warehouse and Livestock building....

Scary ! If the cn is doing something with this,let's hope they don't demolish the building.And that the control board is being restored for a museum...

Aw, crap! That control board was a museum piece.

I've been told they cannot remove this building as the wall on the side of the train tracks is a supporting wall to hold everything together...

you never know, you see lots of places on mount royal where parts of old foundations are acting as retaining walls the buildings long gone

On dirait bel et bien l'oeuvre de ferrailleurs! Ils ont seulement pris ce qui contenait beaucoup de métal. D'après les photos, ils ont aussi pris l'abreuvoir en acier inoxydable...

Oui on dirait...mais les "relays"..c'est complètement ininteressant pour des ferailleurs il me semble..

On va aller faire un tour chez Golden feraille et chez mr Black-scrap-metal!!

TaP and I wanted to bring Prof Chaos for a "touristic" visit but there was a group of CN workers,waiting for the Orient Express probably,parked besides the building..damn! So I decided to go and find out something.

Tonight , my line is :"Good evening ! We are lost ..where is this street ?" With the name of a street I know but that I suspect they won't...so by the time someone is checking , I have time to ask innocent questions like :
"Are you working on that building ?"
"No no..anyway it will be demolished within a year."
I almost shout "But you can't do that ! What about my falcon and my cat resting in peace inside ? And where the heck is the control board ?"

Yes that's the sad new..demolition..no organism wanted it.I told them to give it to me..but,I don't know why,they didn't want..!

So,it is time to do our last pilgrimage there..unless a miracle occurs..

I wonder what the deal is. Simple demolition or is something planned along there?

It is an unacclaimed building so it it is highly unlikely there is a "Friends Of The CN Control Building" organization out there. It would be nice to see someone create a stink, if anything, it would help keep city hall and developers on their toes. Nothing bodes worse for the old buildings than a city populace that is indifferent to their fate and the politicians and the buisness people will always try to push stuff through as quietly as is legally possible.

That control board was mashed up last time I saw it anyways... they would have had to take it out of that building years ago if they would have wanted to put it in a museum.
