A nice map of the area around Alstom, from 100 years ago...

It's changed just a bit, eh?

I'm glad you like! The link I posted above is a bit fucked up as the BNQ map pages prefer to be browsed with those oh-so-annoying frames.

To view the other map sheets of the 1907 series by A.R. Pinsoneault:

1) Go to http://www4.bnqueb...cargeo/accueil.htm
2) Click "Index des titres"
3) Click "Atlas of the Island and City of Montréal and Ile Bizard" (three items up the bottom of the left hand pane)
4) Click the magnifying glass icon in the right hand pane
5) Click through the two levels of index maps to get to your area of interest
6) Click on the "thumbnail" image to open the original scan in a new window

If Pinsoneault's maps turn your crank, check out Chas. E. Goad's atlases from 1890, 1912, 1913 and 1914 too. Found under "Index des titres" also, they're the ones that begin with "Atlas of the City of Montreal..." just above the link to Pinsoneault's atlas. Amazingly detailed stuff!

PS: If you're using Internet Explorer, you might want to turn off the automatic image resizing feature (Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Multimedia > Enable Automatic Image Resizing off). If you have the resizing option on, Windows will shrink the full-size scan to fit your browser window.
