Any recent visitors to comment on current access difficulty or security?

Went on Jan. 7, '06 at around 7 8pm. Hopped barb wire. We saw a portable which had lights on but no tracks in the snow were evident except for tracks going the direction from where we came from. Once inside we heard what sounded very much like foot steps so we decided to get out.

Just got back from a sunday visit

Pretty much completely deserted, the building is starting to show some abandonment now with lots of broken stuff and generally being mildly vacated of objects.

You'll be surprised to see the current state the station is in, the entire control room is pretty much busted and a lot of things have been moved out. It's a sorry sight.

march 19th scout trip, there was some activity near the main gate, a couple ontario hydro trucks driving around, looks totally empty, however ALOT of police traffic in the area, i was there for about 2 hours and saw 6 cruisers drive by. It's peel police territory so be careful those deuche bags think theyre freaking John Wayne. Superiority complex macho bullshit.

We were there for the April 15th Uemeet...no problems ..
I went back alone on the 17th,a working day around 14h30.Many trucks, tractors and workers were working around the access...I backed off because I almost got caught.I waited 'till 16h30 then the way was almost cleared, except for some trucks and cars heading out .
But as I left, around 18h ,there was still 2 or 3 cars parked at the guard's booth.

Of course they tight shot and lock the doors...I think we are not talking about any "conventional" entrances here...

If you're willing to scout around, you can find a conventional way in. Of course, there's always the unconventional. If you're up for a climb, that is.

What are the consequences of getting caught on that abandoned lot nowadays? I realize there are yellow "No trespassing" signs, albeit heavily faded. Are they really in force?

It's not like anyone can do any damage as there is nothing left. But I sure would like to take some pictures of the coal piers. Perhaps see if there is anything left of the underground conveyor system, or just some nice shots of the lake.

Are cops likely to want to run out there? Maybe if it's near their ticket quota time.

I swear I won't sue the town if I swallow a lot of coal-laced dirt and get sick. Yeah, that's right. I'll get a trespassing ticket for my own protection!

Hey oldtimer, long time no see.

I can't image the penalties would be significant if caught. That being said, getting caught might be pretty likely if anyone is around. Not exactly a lot of cover anymore.
