Do you or does anyone happen to know what they used to make here?

I think it was a stell mill - The building it's next to is, according to the map, a "laminoir" which is where they flatten steel. That, and the fact that the place is crammed with steel mills.

A "fosse" is a mine, but it weren't exactly mine buildings - No shaft, just big halls.

The place was indeed a steel rolling mill, thé steel rolling mill connected to the -nowadays owned by Carsid Duferco- steel works in Charleroi. Funny thing is, even nowadays when the place has been torn down, there are still security patrols on the ground, because of the fact that the location is connected to active Duferco industry grounds.
