| | | Yeah, I tried to ask Servo to re-name his... the site he has is commonly called "old Bryce", but in reality, Bryce Hospital has been in the exact same spot it's always been in---in Tuscaloosa, not in Northport. When Bryce Hospital was built, it was called "Alabama Insane Hospital" or AIH for short. Some of the old tomb-stones still say AIH on them (yes, they have a cemetary; actually, there are three different ones I know of; a very old, an old, and the current one). Anyway, the name was changed to Bryce Hospital, after Dr. Peter Bryce, who was the first superintendant of the hospital. The site Servo has listed as "old Bryce" was indeed part of the state mental health system, but other than that, I don't know what it was called exactly.

| If you are referring to the one in northport, i have ben informed that it is SD Allen Care Facility. Not sure about the nursing home adjacent to the large building, but apparently thats what it is. Me and a few friends went there last night, as a matter of fact...
