He was my dad. He never posted but wanted an account of his own. We spent Father's Day at an abandoned amphitheater a few years ago, and explored the prison several times together.

So sorry for your loss! Its wonderful that you got to explore together and that you can cherish those memories. I dont think most of us ever quit missing our parents.
One of my favorite memories was exploring with my son. He's now grown and moved out, but I hope he has fond memories as well.

I am sorry for your loss. His physical presence may be gone, but with your thoughts and stories he will never leave. Never forget to celebrate life....

*hugs* Sorry for your loss. Having a fun dad is an amazing gift. Never got to go exploring with my old man. But he was quite the railfan. Took me to climb all over greasy trains before he passed when I was a teenager.
The loss has never faded for me, but it has gotten easier.

My heartfelt condolences, Sara. It's eleven years now since I lost my dad. That was the worst thing ever to happen in my life. I'll bet he was one swell egg.

Sorry that I missed this thread and sorry to hear about your father's passing. It was great that you got to explore with him him.
I think my situation was the opposite. My father died when I was 7. My oldest brother had just turned 18 and he ended up being the most "normal" out of the 5 of us so I think if I had of had more influence from my father, as my oldest brother did, I probably wouldn't have got into exploring stuff.
