Midnight Rider.....
entry by Brat Bondage
8/11/2005 5:53 AM

In the early morning hours of a frigid winter's night, a lone vehicle idles at a stoplight. The road desolate and vacated of life, the driver's only companion is his car stereo. Incessantly fiddling with its programing, he begins to detect a sound rising above the mundane music selection. Low and gutteral at first, it begins to grow increasingly more pronounced by the minute. To the point, where it almost completely overrides the station's song. When the driver peers up from beneath the door to investigate the source of the sound, he cannot believe what he sees.

Idling next to him, is a motorcycle.

Unwillingly to comprehend exactly what he is witnessing, the driver shakes his head, and wipes at his eyes. Surely the lack of sleep is beginning to cause him grandiose hallucinations. Despite the absence of snow, the temperature is well beyond the freezing point, with a 'Cold Alert' issued early that day. Even with the heat circulating inside the car's interior, he still finds it somewhat intolerable. Certainly, no human would be able to sustain such a mind-numbing, arctic climate. With sub-zero temperatures so brutal, they could cause permanent damage in just a matter of minutes.

Peering out the frost of his passenger window, he further examines the oddity in question.

The motorcycle itself is so otherworldly, it almost defies logical explanation. Like some two-wheeled, mechanized stallion, exhaust snorts from its dual, titanium pipes. Which contain the only hint of chrome visible on the bike. Everything else has been cloaked, in a dull finish of matt black. Dark and foreboding, it gloomy appearance screams of bad intentions, and wrecked lives. Its chiseled, militant structure appears purposely constructed for a lifetime of road wars, and the slanted, low handlebars appear almost like Devil's horns. Unabashedly defiant in nature, and clearly anti-establishment, the whole aura of the machine itself is apocalyptic and stealth-like. The complete opposite, of most modern-day riders seek to own. Surely, if the Grim Reaper rode a motorcycle, this would be the one.

Shifting his gaze to the rider, the driver finds him as equally intriguing and perplexing.

The lean, sleek contours of the rider match his bike. Secured in a full suit, of black, dead hide, not an ounce of skin lies exposed. His trim physique appears almost feline in nature, as he lays poised over the bike. His arms stretched out over the handlebars. With his apparel as shadowy as the bike itself, both rider and motorcycle appear as though they were birthed from the same mother, or forged from the same chunk of iron. inseparable. With each being the parasitic twin to the other.

Suddenly, the rider turns his gaze towards the driver.

With the lunar rays bouncing off his iridum visor, the rider's face remains shrouded in mystery. The inability to see his him, causes the driver to feel a definitive chill run up his spine. Knowing he is being scrutinized, yet being unable to return the favour. He finds the rider's behaviour rather peculiar. Despite the temperature, he doesn't shiver. He doesn't seem to breath, nor does he move. And before he can finish that thought, the leather-clad arm of the mysterious rider rises up. Slowly, he lifts the latch on his shield. The driver's heart palpitates, as he waits to lock eyes with this enigmatic stranger.

And in that final glance, his eyes become saucers, and his jaw goes slack with horror.

Suddenly, the light changes. With an explosion of throttle and gas, the bike is now but a fleeting apparition, far in the distance. Left muttering to himself in shock and disbelief, the driver ponders...

"My God, his face. WHERE WAS HIS FACE?".

Nice! You have a great "writing voice" as one of my english teachers from College would say.

Yog-Sothoth knows the gate. Yog-Sothoth is the gate. Yog-Sothoth is the key and guardian of the gate. Past, present, future, all are one in Yog-Sothoth. He knows where the Old Ones broke through of old, and where They shall break through again. He knows where They have trod earth’s fields, and where They still tread them, and why no one can behold Them as They tread.
