Post pictures or stories of hilariously pathetic security measures!

I'll start with this:

"Let's cover ONE WHOLE RUNG! NO ONE will be able to climb past THAT!"

Cage on only one side of a free-standing ladder. The security guard who accosted me here informed me that kids climb up the back, and just pop through or around at the top.

Yeah but that creepy looking security guard would be enough to scare me off! He has a nice camera though.

Korean security is a hell of alot of bark and no bite...

Basically, lots of security gaurds....who usually are the following

A: old dude security guards who sleep on the job and generally let you do whatever the hell you want...possibly wrecked on Soju..
Bkinny young dude in a suit...trying to look cool to score some chicks
C: Fat dude in suit...this guy is the heavy...Porbaly has low self-esteem...

More cameras than a busy intersection in London...they love CCTV...and proudly advertise this fact publically...I don't think anobody is watching these intently other than the old guy who sits at the front desk watching tv and drinking soju or sleeping or playing card games or etc....

Tiny ass decorative fences...koreans usually jump these all the times...including adults.

THEY do however, Lock doors from the Inside half of the time with a rope lock...good luck breaking into that....good thing they usually leave the rear unlocked or poorly guarded.

This is probably the most piss-poor security feature I've ever come across.

It was only secured to the floor, not the wall.

I was recently walking around downtown at night. As I passed one of the bank buildings (Wells Fargo? who cares?) I noticed that there was the same kind of roping that you would normally use to create lines to a teller or whatever at only one of the many front doors. One rope on the inside of the door and one rope on the sidewalk outside of the door.

I stared at it for a minute and then reached over and opened the unlocked door. Sure enough, the only thing keeping it "secure" was the roping.

I really need to get a point-and-shoot that I can just carry around with me everywhere.

(I'm (reasonably) sure the inner doors were locked, but still...)

Ladder guard with big ol' padlock...unlocked.
Ladder guard on one side of the building.
Effective ladder guards and 12' height with overhang...and an easy path to ledge across from a nearby hill.
Big locked grates on all steam tunnel doors...and unlocked vents that are lit and humming to summon eager explorers.
Large fenced area, lit barbed wire topped with decent gates and good locks...and a 3' infall in a tree line on site (drain access). A little snug, but a fun way to enter and leave.
Ground-level patrols with flashlight and radio...who never looks up. Ever.

These things are to keep the bored and stoned out, I guess.

No pics, but I came across a crazy hillbilly trap in Northern CA.

Old access road in a mountainous area:

First attempt was to stop your vehicle with a dirt berm. If you made it over the berm, a board with nails sticking up was buried on the other side.
Second attempt was a pile of large boulders. No vehicle was getting over these, so you climbed over on foot. on the other side was Golden Barrel Cacti all in a row.
Third attempt- another rock pile, but this time, it was broken bottles sticking out of the ground with a light covering of leaves.

All this was protecting an abandoned mine area with a trashed out mobile home, but it was obvious that someone was maintaining this.

On a more local UE, I came across a house that was plastered with hand written Keep Out-Alarm signs. The front door hardware was missing and the door was partially open. I walked in and when you turn into the main hall, I saw this written with a Sharpie on a piece of foamboard.

"Leave Now. You triped the silent alarm. The pulice are coming now."

I did not make typos. That's how it was spelled.

me and TK ran across this boarded up house in a very expensive neighborhood. Apparently some old guy kept refusing to comply with the HOA ordinances during his "remodeling" project and got an injunction put on his property.

So he put these signs up and boarded the place up.

No Pictures but construction workers left 2 back doors open when I was exploring an old hotel in scarborough Once, it's really pathetic because they could have shut that down and made sure no one entered!
