I've heard that some of the countertops and bannisters have been removed. Anyone know whats going on here? Please, God, not more urban sprawl.

When I grow old I'm going to purchase some deplorable properties and just keep them. To piss off the developers and provide a haven for UEers.

that house is beautiful and really does deserve somebody living in it. From what i saw when i was there it seems like somebody started trying to renovated but quit around august/september (2003) and then simply left. (September was the most recent date a calendar was set to in the kitchen)

In reality though like everything else it will be demolished and a new house will be put up over top of it. As much as it sucks it's just the nature of our hobby. Eventually time will pass and those people may leave too and then generations after us will also have new places to ue.

Cool place, kind of looks like what my parents house when we first moved in. Exept it used to be a chicken farm so there where chicken feet and skulls everywhere. Someone should buy it, it can't be worth that much.

Off-topic - but a bit related:

I haven't been to this place, but seein' the pics reminds me of a similiar farmhouse and snowmobile dealer up in Orono years ago. My parents rented the old farmhouse on the property back in the late 60s and the landlord ran a Ski-Doo (Bombardier) dealership down the laneway near the highway at the time. I think he also sold mini-bikes (I recall his son driving one up and down the driveway often).

The farmhouse was rather ancient, complete with the old wood stove for cooking in the kitchen. The barn had some skeletons of farm animals in it (I remember a cow's skull). The basement of the farmhouse had big snakes in it.

Think the property owner's name back then was Beaupris (sp?). The old place was still there last time I drove by about 6-7 yrs. ago.

The one-room schoolhouse in Orono (now a museum) was where I attended kindergarten in `69.

Just putting my pix into the DB and saw the related thread...

House is still there, barn is just rafters. Metal shed is gone, showroom is gone. Not much left of the place... Not sure what is going to happen, but it is still standing in late 2005.
