I'm sure all of us here in Texas know this place; I checked it out earlier this month on my way back from San Antonio. Here's a link to the DB entry:

Nice! It was a shame they demolished that place. Hope they can save that.

Have you checked to see if there are tunnels under or near those runways?

I didn't...this was just a quick 30 minute stop on the way through town. I didn't even expect I'd be able to get inside the tower, but when I discovered I could, how could I resist?

I love this place. It's about 5 minutes from my house and I haven't been there in a while. I should go and take a few shots this weekend.

You didn't quite get the "demolished" statement earlier, did you?

Actually, the tower itself is still standing, or at least it was, obviously, a couple weeks ago when I shot it. I imagine it still is; I think what BK was referring to was that the airport in general had been demo'ed.

the colors are fantastic in shot 3

...the wings on my shoes shrank now the moths won't eat my kidneys, when i shake my state capital it only yields 3 fairy napkins, but how do i know my banana slippers are like water boats because when the moon winks it burns my hamster punches, and that's how you get to llama school rowing your canoe backwards up main street when the front bumper falls off, do mermaids get to drink orange juice?

Thanks Flux!

Actually, doing a pano from here would be tough, unless one was willing to climb all the way onto the roof od the entire tower, and I hate climbing ladders like the one you see in the picture, with pitches steeper than vertical (i.e., you're weight is pulling you backwards off the ladder). The reason you couldn't do it from the control room is because it's all boarded up.
