Thanks to Barry Kooda for his UER DB entry on this place...Musket Boy and I visited Monday night in the snowfall; explored the whole place, even found time for a couple of pictures.

That first picture was the front door...in that hallway to your left when you are looking at the front door, the first door on the right was my room...the one closest to the stairs

I seem to remember those legs being in the basement....Ghosties!

I love your light painting. It really brings life to the place.

Thanks everyone!

Armed Geoduck - You need to clean your room...it's a disgrace!

Barry Kooda - Indeed they were; and a few doors down from the mannequin we found a collection of women's heels, all lined up nice and neat like they were in someone's closet. We grabbed a pair, stuck 'em on the mannequin, and she followed us around the rest of the night!

Jaysun - It's wide open man...they're having a move-in special right now too...no deposit, no rent! Plus, mannequins at 50% off!!!

That place was complete crap. A damn wasteland. As far as my room there went, I am anal retentive, so it wasn't me.

Armed Geoduck - Yeah, it was a pretty sorry place...I actually auditioned a female singer there once (I'm a musician in my "day" job), and it was a hellhole even then; not a whole lot better than it is now!

gutfree - Thanks for the comment!

Do you mind giving a few tips on the technical side of the shots? Do you put the camera on the bulb mode and flash three times with three different color gels on the flash? I went to your website and it seems you also travel with studio lights. Any link to a website explaining the technique if it takes too long to explain here? Thanks.

(I don't use flash anymore - it flattens everything in my pics. But your photos are so good, they give a new meaning to light painting)

Thanks for the comments! You are correct about the strobes; I walk to different place and fire off my strobes "handheld", lighting different areas of the shot accordingly. I do not actually travel with any studio lighting though; the only other non-naturally occurring light in my pictures (other than strobes) is provided (in some shots) by any of a variety of flashlights, from a mini-maglite up to a 2 million candlepower spotlight. I sometimes gel those as well.

Hope this helps!

Noel
