Actually the only thing that this or any other star system tells about anybody, is that how much they have wasted from their lives on this forum

I really never look on any forum, that how much the person have stars etc. It doesn't add in my mind any credibility to the things that the person is saying.
You can have hundred stars, one or none, every person in my mind starts from the same line, until they open their mouth.

The trust and credibility develops in time...with or without stars.

A good point Kimmo. The time you spend on here is reflective only of how much time you have access to an internet connection and to browse this site.

But the combination of posts, time spent here, and quality of posts, generally is the indicator of who is worth trusting. The first two are easily seen, and the last should be available to be seen to anyone with the patience to actually look through what people have posted in the past.

I like it, at least better than the standard stars-by-time system anyway

We still don't have an answer as to what the wolf is for, unless Remo is correct and Av has a crush on Crossfire.

Nobody else has it that I've seen... maybe it's some top-secret Order of the Blue Wolf identification.... hm....

On a sidenote, I'm curious as to how to the Trusted Star works; I assume it's just person-by-person rating from one of the admins?

So there I was, in this creepy old hallway...

I like the Cult of the Blue Wolf explanation. I don't know what it could mean, but it sure as hell sounds cool... I wonder if it's anything like the Blue Oyster Cult, because "Don't Fear the Reaper" is a wicked song.

It looks good to me, though I feel that a mod/admin having the time donated and or trusted stars is a bit redundant.

trusted is just in case someone doesn't realize the mod is indeed a mod.

the time donated star is only given when someone actually donates the time... like crossfire is working on a redesign of uer.ca.

Isn't moderating the forum considered donating time though?

Also, I doubt that anyone that can't tell that someone is a mod/admin by looking at the colored star that has been around for the three months that I've been here won't be bothered to read what the trusted star is for.

I'm not trying to be a pain in the ass, I would just prefer to cut down on clutter to make browsing smoother.

No way i want more little icons. I think they're funny. More more more! I should be getting a "6" star soon. It's all i have in life to look forward too... Don't take it away from me...

That's pretty sad.

Av: love the new system as it is now, but what kinds of ideas were you thinking of for more new icons?

There's always room for more icons. Another idea I had was: If you do the quiz with all answers right the first time, you get another star. (The quiz isn't ready yet)

You should make special "Best of..." stars for after OPE'94. Like "Best Ninja", or "Biggest klutz" or stuff like that.

I wanna see my stars, I'll add an edit with a comment in a minute.

EDIT - Oh well, just a sixy. Perhaps it's a sexy sixy. Maybe not, though. Is there a "Back from a Banning" star I can apply for? Or maybe a "I inadvertantly named the official UE convention" star? Oooh ooooh! Maybe a "I'm getting a hug when I see Jester" star!

Maybe I should donate... at least it will give me a trophy...

I think that it's a wonderful system. It adds credibility where the old system was a bit lacking. This system seems to be more purposeful, rather than the time-based system. Av does it again ladies and gentlemen!

I am so taking home that klutz star. You don't know it if you haven't met me, but it's only in doing the most redundant inane shite that I get hurt.

Scale a building? sure!

Surf across molten lava on a raft of toothpicks? I can do that!

But sit upright in a chair without stabing myself, falling, tying my fingers into a knot which cannot be undone... you've got the wrong guy.

Hey great idea, Av! This new star system is not only entertaining, it's more informative than the previous incarnations! Kudos. Now to solve the mystery of the wolf star...
