| | | Gosh, I love those old bathtubs! I'd buy one if I could. It makes me sad to see them abandoned like that. These pics are very, very nice!

yeah, whenever i get a house of my own, i'll probably be tempted to grab an old tub out of some abandoned house and restore it for myself or something. i doubt i'd have the balls to do such a thing. ...maybe i'll ask the land owner or something. I don't know. But yes, claw-foot tubs are awesome. and thanks for the compliments.

oh yes, it snows quite a bit. well, in the last 10 years it probably hasn't snowed all that much (damn global warming). but this year we've had record snowfall. it's probably snowed at least one day out of every week for the last 2 or 3 months. we're expecting snow and ice today/tonight.

| | | Went out for another adventure... just yesterday. thought I'd get in some exploring before the weather turned sour. We're supposed to get like 1/2' of ice and 4 inches of snow today/tonight. Wonderful, Eh? But I'll uhh... cut to the chase. This first photo is from a property that actually has two abandoned homes on the same lot. Also, within about a one mile radius there are several other homes, and even the remnants of an old one-room school house.
All of the tree damage & fallen limbs were the result of a huge ice storm that ravaged the area in December. Us, along with tens of thousands of others were without power for awhile. Here's some interior shots:
Interior of another home nearby:
And this is a lovely little schoolhouse that sets in the middle of what used to be a small village... back in about the 1880's. I believe it was called Putnam, either that or it was part of the nearby town of Hudson.
Interior shots:
including the cafeteria kitchen, in the basement:
oh, and is anybody going to Bonnaroo 08'? the lineup sounds alright... it's like $50 more than 2 years ago when I saw Radiohead though. So I'll pass. But if you are going.... have a wonderful time, and avoid anyone asking if "you want any 'shrooms'..."

Remember that you gotta be extra careful. Most of those houses look like stepping foot inside might kill you (unsafe floors). Unfortunately these types of houses are typically deathtraps. Good luck and be safe. L
