Im sure everyone and their mother in this area knows what this place is. Just had a few shots (exterior) that I thought I would share. I was inside back in 2003 or so but I have to scan those pics....when I find them. So once again...an already explored and posted everywhere place.

Thanks for sharing. I drove by there the other day and it made me sad to think about the UE gem that this place once was.

What are they doing with that place now, anyway? Is it still just sitting there temping the local explorers, or have they renovated it?

They are still working on the renovations. I think they want to make it into apartments and offices from what I remember. Living in an old hospital just seems creepy to me.

There doing a conversion to condos and are going to put up a tower in the back with offices and more condos. As for the creepy comment, it's not to bad, My dad lives a place used to be a hospital and his apartment is what used to be the Emergency Room, his neighbors "covered patio" is the drive thru canopy for where the Ambulances used to come in!

Ahh, thanks for the info. Living in the old ER may not be so bad. I think it's the thought of living in a former morgue that creeps me out.

The location, its history, and its future are frequently under discussion at the dallasmetropolis.com forum. Of course, I can't link to the thread, since that would kind of violate the whole "don't ask, don't tell" rule. But if you know what it is and you want to know more, that's the place to do a search.

Here are some renderings of the future development from the thread. They're originally from a city of [redacted] presentation, so it's fair to reproduce them here.
