Ever notice when it comes to a competition between Man and Nature, Nature always wins. It may take a long time but the outcome is inevitable.

Nature will go to great lengths to support itself

And if the path gets a little too busy She just moves to the side

Up here where no one notices, She is undefeated

Even down here in places nobody else wants

And She only needs to get a small foothold to hang onto

No obstacles large or small will keep Her down

Learn from Mother Nature we all belong to Her

Great shots. I especially like the colors and textures in #4.

Do you come up with these captions while you're taking pictures and exploring? Or do you write something up just before posting? Either way, it's brilliant!

Very nice!

That nature is starting to seriously effect my UE'ing. Not the plants so much as the spiders, mosquitoes, bee's, yellow jackets and whatever else scary bugs are hidden in that plant life. *shudder*

I got stung 5 times by yellow jackets, and Veritus got it twice last Saturday when we went exploring. Have you been stung by anything crazy yet?

I love finding places that look that way.
Nice way of telling the story also. Two thumbs up!

Nothing happens at all. It'll open up a new tab (firefox and internet explorer) and the page will just be a blank page.

Nice job! That place has gotten really overgrown. I was kinda expecting them to start using it for something. Did you notice anything active on site? Also, I took a picture almost exactly like one of yours.

yes as a matter of fact the two large warehouses to the east are being used by someone to store building materials, those desks and about 100 more like them, and some vehicles

the gravel pile to the north is also active I couldnt get pics up there that day
they were doing something there as well

Cool. You know that was the location that I'm pretty sure was the closest I've ever been to getting caught. Biggest mistake ever was parking just inside the fence. I walked around for a while until I saw their huge watchdog. I decided that even though it was tied up, someone was obviously paying attention to the place. When I got back to my car there was a guy in a truck blocking the exit. I calmly approached him and showed him my camera. He told me that he had already called the cops and they would be there soon. I don't think he really cared or the camera was a huge help because somehow I was able to convince him to let me leave before the cops showed up. I felt pretty invincible after that. That's not really a good feeling to have when Urbexing. Nice to see more pics from that place.

Sounds like you DID get caught to me but uhh.. good fortune invincible or not!

DOGS you say?

Now you tell me!

There were lots of big dog tracks in the mud inside and out but I assumed they were strays from the hood not K9s. Funny now that I think about it the dog tracks went along same direction with some combat boot tracks so maybe its patrolled.

There was some guy working over near the gravel pile in a front end loader but like I said I didnt want to get too close I wasnt sure what was his property or this one so I generally just hide from them all, neighbors and everyone.

I guess the school desks made me think maybe the school district is using it but nothing else in there added up. The roofs on the warehouse seem new, not just newer than the bldg but like a couple years new.

More pics in the DB, did you check out the old cemetary nearby?

No, I didn't see the cemetery because I only had about an hour to look around and once I was (as you correctly say) caught I didn't want to hang around.

I mostly heard the dogs at first but thought they were far away. Then I saw some pens set up on the side of one of the buildings and saw some dogs moving around. It's been a long time so I don't remember which. That was when I decided the place was not as abandoned as I had originally thought.

I know which muddy building you are talking about too. I think when I was there they were still preparing it for reuse. I'll see if I can dig up the pics I took.

I think the reason I never posted publicly about it was because of the little run-in. And then I totally forgot about it until you reminded me. Here's some pics:

First I took a pic of what was in those holes... Not somewhere you want to fall into.

Smokestack was definitely not quite as overgrown.
