Anyone know of anymore books on UE? I know Access All Areas, Invisible Frontier, and the Sigma offering (which I will purchase once I'm out of the doghouse). I need more, though.

Thanx!

G!

there is everyone's favourite

There are numerous books on the subject. Off the top of my head there is Hudson Valley Ruins: Forgotten Landmarks of an American Landscape by Thomas Rinaldi and Robert J. Yasinsac. Also, Camilo José Vergara has some books on urban decay, mostly exteriors.

Just search around on Amazon and you will come up with allot.

Thanks for those two! I knew about Creepers--someone stole the copy from our library; NY Underground has been on the radar, but I have yet to see it. Thanks again!

That has a section on some pretty known abandonments, pictures, histories, and stories from people who've visted. The rest of the book is on ghost stories, weird sites, and roadside attractions and such. Pretty interesting overall.

From what I've heard, the book sucks horse balls. If somebody stole the book in order to burn it, that would actually be an extremely ethical act.

Ghostly ruins is a good book .. in fast a damn good book and no mention of ghosts

Got mine through the publisher for free but given the choice having read it I still would have bought it ;)

Other than that I am a bit of an individual collector, find loads of out of print stuff on fleabay ... just picked up a 1864 copy of Asylums in British colonies for about $15 .... well worth it in my opinion

I like Haikyo Hyoryu (Ruins) by Shinichiro Kobayashi, in English/Japanese. Still heaps of great photos, even if you can't read all the text...

Mr. Rottenpeach gave me Ghostly Ruins for Christmas.
All the Weird USA books have a section on abandonments.
I recently read a book called Londer Under London that wasn't too bad...

There is a magazine in Japan called Wander-Japan. Its up to issue 3 so far, which has loads of pics of Gunkanjima and other sites. Issue 1 had the now famous ruined theme park in Fukushima.

Any idea how to get hold of copies? Do they have a website?
